Privacy Policy

Open Road Ace does not collect, store, transmit, or share personal information off your device.

What the app uses

Open Road Ace requires the following on-device sensors and services to function:

• Precise location. Used solely to compute your distance along the course polyline, detect start and finish gate crossings, and calculate timing data. Location is used in real time and is not stored, transmitted, or shared. The app requests location with When-In-Use scope only — never Always or background.
• Bluetooth (optional). Used only if you choose to pair an external GPS receiver (RaceBox Mini S, RaceBox Micro, or Dual XGPS150). The app communicates locally with paired receivers; no Bluetooth data is transmitted off your device.

What we do not do

• We do not have servers. The app makes no network requests of its own.
• We do not collect analytics. There are no analytics, telemetry, or crash-reporting SDKs in the app.
• We do not track. The app does not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not show ads.
• We do not require an account. There is no login, no email signup, and no user identifier.
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone.

Race history and exports

Race history (course, target speed, finish delta, average MPH, and timestamps) is stored locally in your device’s app storage. You can export individual races as CSV or GPX files; exported files are written to your device’s Files app and only leave your device if you explicitly share them.

Deleting the app removes all locally stored race history.

Third-party software

The app includes the open-source XGPSSDK library, used solely to communicate with Dual’s XGPS150 GPS receiver via Bluetooth. The library does not transmit data off your device.

Privacy manifest

The app includes Apple’s required PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy manifest declaring:

• Tracking: No.
• Tracking domains: None.
• Data collected: Precise location, used solely for app functionality, not linked to user identity, not used for tracking.
• Required-reason APIs: UserDefaults (in-app settings) and System Boot Time (timing intervals during a race).

Children’s privacy

Open Road Ace is rated 4+ but is targeted at adult drivers participating in open-road racing events. The app does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and post the revised policy at this URL. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes on the App Store.
